Patroclus joins the battle.
Achilles agrees to let his best friend fight along the Achaeans while wearing his armor for protection. -
Patroclus is killed by Hector

Achilles finally joins the fight.
After learning of his friend's death, Achilles rejoins the Achaean army, eager to kill Hector. -
Achilles kills Hector and many other Trojans

Achilles drags Hector's body around the city.
Still furious over his friend's death, Achilles drags Hector, the murderer, around the city, refusing to return him to his family. -
King Priam begs Achilles to return Hector's body to him.
After dragging his body around the city for 9 days, Achilles relents and returns Hector to his father.
