Snoop Dogg, born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. was born in Long Beach California to his parents Vernall Varnando and Beverly Broadus. His father left when he was a newborn and so he was named after his stepfather, Calvin Cordozar Broadus Sr.. He was nicknamed Snoopy by his parents due to him having similar characteristics to the character from peanuts in his young age. Snoop is a sibling of 2 brothers.

Snoop Graduated High School
In 1989, Snoop graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic Highschool of which has one of if not the best football program in the country, sending 60 people to the NFL throughout the history of the school. Also the school has received 6 grammy awards for its music program of which allowed Snoopy to develop into Snoop Dogg.

After beginning rapping with his cousin, Nate Dogg, he changed from Snoopy to Snoop Dogg. His first hit was after Nate introduced him to Dr. Dre in the song "Dr. Dre’s “Nuthin’ But A G Thang” where he featured. The track peaked at Number 2 on the Top 100 Billboards.
