Tomas mac Curtain is murdered, but this is only important for the public response. The public acted quite venomously, sending hate mail and threatening the British Government and Micheal Collins later said that everyone related to Tomas' death was killed -

Bloody sunday
Ira set out to assassinate several Cairo gang members. They killed fourteen and a black and tan
Later that day black and tans and the royal irish constabulary (RIC) shot up a gaelic football game, killing 14 members, not excluding women or children
Even later three imprisoned ira members are tortured and killed at Dublin castle -
The fourth home rule bill was enacted
After three other home rule bills going through the system, the first two being shut down by the House Of Lords, the third being suspended until after ww1 but by the end much had changed, the fourth home rule bill is finally passed, partritioning Ireland -
