In the year 1939, the USSR and Germany signed the Non-aggression pact. This pact was an aggreement that neither Germany or the USSR would attack one another. -

The Cold War played a huge part in the downfall of the Soviet Union and communism. -

After Russia became the USSR, it wasn't long after that they officially became a communist nation. -
Stagnation
Not soon after the Cold War, Russia fell into a long and tiring period of economic stagnation, that ultimately lead to the fall of the Soviet Union. -
The fall of Communism
The fall of communism began on November 9th in 1989 at the Berlin wall. The people were so excited to be done with the rule of a cruel dictator, that they cheered together and began to tear down the wall, sybolizing the end of the communist rule.
