Lily's Birth
Lily was born on the 4th of July 1950. She always assumed that she was a special child becuase there would be fireworks just for her on her birthday, but as she grows older, she would come to realize that she was nothing special as she had always expected. -
Deborah's Death, Lily's mother's death
Deborah was Lily's mother. Her last few moments were spent fighting with her husband T.Ray as she was emptying out her closet. Lily had picked up the gun that was on the floor and accidentaly pulled the trigger, killing her mother. This accident has left a major part of Lily's life in the dark. Lily now has no love or care from any of her family members. -
Signing of the Civil Rights Act
Linden Johnson had signed the Civil Rights Act, enabling all rights to equal people. At 6pm Rosaleen was watching the TV when it happened and was planning to go vote. -
Lily ran away from home
Lily decided that she did not belong here anymore and she wanted a new roof to live under, so she rean away. -
Rosaleen was arrested
Rosaleen and Lily headed out on her birthday for Rosaleen to get confirmation that she can vote. On their way, Rosaleen and Lily came across white trash men who were making fun of Rosaleen. This made her mad enough to pour out her spit onto the men's shoes. The men beat her severely and the cops came to throw her in jail. -
Arriving in Tiburon
Rosaleen and Lily arrived in Tiburon after they hitchiked from a black man in his truck filled with catolopes. They were able to eat a few of them and slept outside by a creek. During this time the girls got into an argument about where their going and what their doing. -
Lily steals from a Local Store
Lily figured that Rosaleen needed some snuff, but becuase the store was tecnically closed, she stole it. -
Lily is Given a Job
Lily is offered a job from August to help her keep the bees. She won't get paid much but she will have a job so she can make money. -
Arriving at August, May, and June's House
The house was an ugly pink color for a house but Lily and Rosaleen arrived and were greeted with open arms, after a few lies. Lily doesn't want to let August know who she really is so she takes on a different last name.
