Allied with the Germans, Japanese forces strike Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, catching the United States off guard. This was also intended to be strategic in the manner that Japan would soon take other enemy colonies in this region. Just a day later, the US enters the war. -

Shortly after General Montgomery of Great Britain received instruction from Winston Churchill, British forces used a strategic attack to push back the Italian-German army in Northern Africa. -
Italy Surrenders
After Mussolini's government had been replaced, the new Italian government surrendered. However, Italian forces were taken over by Hitler, and Mussolini was given a new position for the Germans. The actual political body of Italy had switched to work allies after several defeats, but Italian forces were still used by the Germans. -

In Normandy, France, in attempt to gain control over the German mainland, the largest seaborne invasion in history took place. Having been informed of incorrect information, the German forces could not hold back the Allied forces as they formed a solid bridgehead. -

Hiroshima
The United States decides that the war has gone on long enough and detonates an atomic bomb in Hiroshima, Japan as they are still fighting alone and not surrendering. -
Nagasaki
Following Hiroshima, Japanese forces would not give in. The lone nation still battled alone. In response, the US dropped a second atomic bomb. -
Japanese Surrender
After many long years, the surrendering of two allies, and two atomic bombs with mass devastation, the Second World War had finished for Japan.
