    Zachary Taylor was a general in the Mexican American war. Zachary Taylor was known for his excellent work done on the battlefield. Doing this Zachary Taylor was elected to the White House , even tho he had vauge political beliefs. Henry Clay nominated Zachary Taylor to be President.

    Henry Clay and Fredrick Douglas propsed The Compromise of 1850 in Janurary 1850. The Compromise of 1850 was states that seperated the free and slave states apart. The Fugitive Slave Act was passed during this time. This compromise however failed doe to pro-slavery believers.
