The Founders
the founders of the salvation army were William booth and his wife Catherine. In 1865 William Booth was invited to hold a series of evangelistic meetings in the East End of London. He set up a tent in a Quaker graveyard, and his services became an instant success. This proved to be the end of his wanderings as an independent traveling evangelist. His renown as a religious leader spread throughout London, and he attracted followers who were dedicated to fight for the souls of men and women. -

Heart Pillows
The Heart Pillow is a Project designed to help breast cancer patients. However, we can say that it is much more than that; it is a story of women helping women, a story of a network that crossed many boarders and places. It is a story within another story. -
International Heath Services
For almost as long as The Salvation Army has existed, it has operated hospitals and clinics in some of the most needy areas of the world. That remains true today. The Salvation Army’s medical services are most effective, influential and sustainable when they link to health-related community development, which gives local people – Salvationists and others – the opportunity to participate. -
Day of prayer for children
In September 2015 General André Cox called the youth and children’s leaders from across The Salvation Army world to a global conference, Right At the Heart. His challenge from the gospels was clear: 'Jesus takes young people and puts them right at the heart of his ministry - do we?' In 2016, as we approach the International Day of Prayer for Children on Sunday 3 April, this hope is in front of us. -

Evangelism
The Salvation Army was raised to evangelise - to tell people the good news of Jesus Christ. It is an integral part of the Christian Church, although distinctive in government and practice.
