    Many people went on a demonstration at czar's palace asking for better working conditions, more personal freedoms, and an elected national legislature. During the demonstration Nicholas ll's generals ordered all soldiers to fire on the crowded many where wounded and this was later known as the Bloody Sunday.

    The Bloody sunday provoked a wave of strikes and violence that spread across the country, nicholas allowed the creation of the duma - Russia's first parliament.

    Nicholas ll made a fateful decision to drag russia into world war 1, Russia wasn't ready to handle the military and economic costs. In 1915 Nicholas moved his headquarters to the war front, from there he wanted to rally his discouraged troops to victory.
