    This peace treaty was successful to end the 'World War I'. It was an agreement between the Germany and the Allied powers. One of the most important and controversial act was that the Germany took all the blame and accepted the responsibility for causing all the loss and damage" during the war.
  • Hitler took control of Germany

    Hitler took control of Germany
    Hitler became Chancellor on 30 January, 1933. He began to build the Germany army and navy, despite the provision in the Treaty of Versailles that for-bided Germany from having a military, Hitler continued to build up Germany soldiers and its military forces.
  • Invasion of the Rhineland

    Invasion of the Rhineland
    Adolf Hitler violated the Treaty of Versailles by sending German military forces into the Rhineland, a demilitarized zone along the Rhine River in western Germany.The French viewed Hitler's movement of troops to the Rhineland to threat to their national security. The French government wanted help from the British government but the British government did not want to face Hitler. So, they chose a policy of appeasement (gave Hitler what they want to maintain peace).
  • Anschluss

    Anschluss represents the annexation of Austria into Nazi Germany on 12 March 1938. Hitler annexed (take over) Austria and wanted to unite the Austrian and German peoples. He claimed Austria to be the part of Germany because the Austrian people spoke German and their culture were similar and appealing to Hitler. So, the Nazi army invaded Austria and forced the Austrian government to surrender.
  • Invasion of Czechoslovakia

    In September 1938, Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia by demanding the Czech government surrender to Germany. The Czech government was terrified for their nation and so they prepared to fight Nazis.
  • Munich Pact

    Munich Pact
    The leaders of France and Britain met with Hitler in the German city of Munich and made an agreement called the Munich Pact. Britain and France finally agreed to sacrifice Czechoslovakia to Hitler in return to stop invading other European countries. And they very proud of the Munich Pact because they believed they were successful to avoid the war.
  • Nazi-Soviet Pact

    Hitler were only terrified by the Soviet Union (USSR). Hitler was feared from Stalin's communist nation had enough people to build an army that were many times the size of the Nazi army. So, in fear Hitler signed a military alliance with Stalin. This was called the 'Nazi-Soviet Pact'. Hitler and Stalin agreed to not invade their countries but divide up the nation of Poland.

    Hitler and Stalin had decided to invade Poland and take over their territory. When Hitler invaded Poland, the league of Nations were forced to confront the reality that negotiation had failed. The Nazi invasion of Poland signified that Hitler was breaking the Munich Pact. He did not kept his promise to stop invading European countries. So, Britain and France declared war on Germany by breaking the Treaty of Versailles. There were no peace kept in Europe and accordingly, World War had begun.
