    The IntolerableActs were a series of laws that the British Parliament passed in the mid1-770s, they instated the acts to make an example of the colonies after Boston Tea Party. The British wanted the colonists to pay England back for all the tea that the colonist destroyed.

    Thomas Paine wrote Common Sense to illustrate the need for independence, it outlined his thoughts on a new constitution on America.

    The Declaration of Rights did the same thing that the Declaration of Independence did, it clearly states that rights are "the basis and foundation of government"

    The Declaration broke all the political ties between the American colonies and Great Britain and set forth the ideas and principles behind a fair government and the Constitution outlined how this government would function.

    The Articles created a loose confederation of sovereign states and a weak central government, leaving most of the power with the state governments. The need for a stronger government soon became apparent and eventually led to the Constitution.
