  • The Beginning of the French and Indian War

    The French and Indian War began with George Washington surprise attacking some French troops then after that he retreated to Great Meadows and built Fort Neccesity. It made British raise taxes which made the colonists mad.
  • The end of the French and Indian War

    The warThe war ended with the Treaty of Paris stating that the British got everything east of the Mississippi and Spain got everything to the west
  • The Proclamation of 1763

    The Proclamation said that any land transactions made west of the Appalachian Mountain are governed by the British instead of the colonies. This helped lead to the American Revolution because colonists wanted to settle farther west and it angered them.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act was to get the colonist to purchase watermarked, taxed paper for use in newspaper and legal documents. This helped lead to the American Revolution because the British made colonists use only certain paper that was expensive.
  • The Townshend Act

    The Townshend Act was to tax colonist on glass, paint, oil, lead, paper, and tea and was designed to raise £40,000 a year. This helped lead to the American Revolution because colonists didnt want any more taxes.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre was a street fight between a mob of colonists and a squad of British infantry. Several colonists were killed. This helped lead to the American Revolution because it was considered an act of violence towards the colonists.

    spent large sums of money on replacing goods that had been destroyed or stolen on their way to the colonies so the english put a higher tax on tea. This helped lead to the American Revolution because the colonists didnt want higher taxes to pay.

    The Tea Act was to take tea from the East Indian Company and sell it at bargain price to the colonists but the colonist thought that it was to raise support for the other taxes in order. It helped lead to the American Revolution because the colonists thought it would make people pay their other taxes.
  • The Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party was when some agents of the Sons of Liberty diguised as Indians went into the Boston Harbor and threw thousands of pounds of tea into the water. This helped lead to the American Revolution because it was one of the first major acts of rebellion towards the British.
  • Lexington and Concord

    The Battle of Lexington and Concord was the first battle of the revolution when a British general sent 700 troops to the town of Concord to destroy guns and ammunition that colonists had stored. This helped lead to the American Revolution because it was the first real battle between colonists and British troops.
  • The Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence was signed by many revolutionary leaders and stated that the colonies would be free of British rule.The Declaration of Independence helped lead to the American Revolution because it was the thing that established America as its own country.
