    Stono Rebellion
    when slaves were being used instead of indentured servants, slave did the best they could to try to adapt to their new way of living. Some of the slaves resisted by deliberately defying their masters while other ran away.   • New York Conspiracy

    New York Conspiracy
    After the Stono Rebellion, thirteen fires broke out and rumors were spread throughout New York that slaves were plotting to kill their masters and to take full control over the colonies. Paranoid by all the rumors government begin to interview and interrogate slaves. The result was 17 New Yorkers were executed, 13 black men were burned, and 4 whites were hung. The French and Indian War, also known as the Seven Years War, was one of the most notable wars in due to it lasted almost a decade and resulted in Great Britain being consumed in debt.     The Treaty of Paris
    Signed by the French and signaled the end of the French and Indian War. British Empire gained control of the area of what we now know as Canada to Florida. In gaining this land, they acquired sugar islands, trading post, and French held post on the coast of Africa.

    was used to try to prevent future costly wars by preventing white settlement of the West of the Proclamation Line which ran along the Appalachian Mountains.

    Due to the costly war, Great Britain experienced a doubled national debt. With no way of being able to pay the debt down, taxes were imposed on the colony which resulted in the passing of several acts being passed and put on the people.

    The Sugar Act was imposed to help undercut the problem of smuggling and had the intent that mariners would abide by the imperial laws.

    Tea could be exported directly to other colonies and would therefore cut out the middlemen and release the duties of paying for import and export.
