The Birth of Napoleon
In 1769 Napoleon was born on a small island of Corsica -
Rise in the Ranks
At the age of ten, Napoleon left his home, Corsica, for a military school in Brienne, France, where his academic success was minimal. Allthough his acidemic success was poor his military intelegence was excelent. -
A new Second lieutenant
Napoleon was commissioned second lieutenant in the artillery. -
New Campaigns
Napoleon then initiated a series of campaigns against the Austrians and Sardinians in Italy, winning in rapid succession Savoy, Nice, Lombardy, and Mantua for France. -
Coup d'etat
At the age of 30 Napoleon is returning to Paris after hearing about the millitary crisis facing France And then takes control of France by the Coup d'etat. -
The Crowning of an Emperor
By the age of 35 Napoleon claimed himself the emperor of France. He also created a new set of laws called the Napoleonic code, and set about a millitary campaign to expand the empire. -
Failing Wars
Napoleon begins to lose many of the wars that he waged to gain more land. This is the main reason for why he is exiled to the island of Elba -
Exiled
After a few years of rule from Napoleon, he starts to lose millitary battles and people begin to turn on him. He is sent into exile for the rest of his life. -
New Ways
With Napoloen in exile the Congress of Nienna forms a Holy Aliance with Russia, Austria, and Prussia. They also form the Concert of Europe. -
The End of a Legend
Napoleon was 51 by the time he died from stomach cancer in 1821
