"Twenty One Demands"
The Twenty-One Demands were a set of demands made during the First World War by Japan. Its main purpose was to weaken the government of China. The demands would extend Japanese control of Manchuria and of the Chinese economy, and were opposed by Britain and the United States. -
The Siberian Expedition
The Siberian Intervention, was the dispatch of troops of the main powers to the Russian Maritime Provinces. The western powers and Japan supported the White Russian forces against the Bolshevik Red Army during the Russian Civil War. The Imperial Japanese Army continued to occupy Siberia even after other Allied forces had withdrawn in 1920. -
Washington Conference
Also called the Washington Arms Conference or the Washington Disarmament Conference, was a military conference held in Washington from 12 November 1921 to 6 February 1922.
It was attended by nine nations the United States, Japan, China, France, Britain, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, and Portugal.

It was a law passed to help maintain and acheive peace among Japan and China. It was one of the most siginificant laws of pre war Japan. -
Mukden Incident
Also known as the Marco Polo Bridge Incident. Was a staged event by the Japanese and blamed the Chinese for the attack on the track. The Japanese used this excuse to begin the invasion. The event was unauthorized. -

Rape of Nanjin
This was when the Japanese Army captured Nanjin in China. It was seen as one of the most important victories and events of the Second Sino Japanese War as many shocking and horrific things were done. For example the Japanese murdered thouands of civilans and raped 80,000 women. -
Tripartite Pact
Pact made between Germany, Italy and Japan. It stated that if any country faced an attack or threat that the other two would join for assistance. -
Pearl Harbor
The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise attack by the Japanese Navy against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, in Hawaii, on the morning of December 7, 1941. This event lead the United States into the Seocnd World War. It was planned by the Jaanese and the Americans knew about this as they had decoded their codes.
