    General Washington was choose to lead the American force of the Continental Army through the Revolutionary War. Even though his ability to lead and authority was most likely questioned with early defeats in the beginning of the war. His patience and strategy gave him unquestionable respect.

    Thomas Jefferson

    Thomas Jefferson was an major influence in the Revolutionary War since he drafted one of the first Deceleration of Independence and signed it with the ideas he read and heard out of the Enlightenment. He also proceeded to become America's 3rd president due to his influence in the Revolution. .

    France (Treaty of Amity & Commerce, Treaty of Alliance)

    This duo of treaties affected the Revolutionary War since France signed these so they could support their allies while at the same time securing revenge against their British enemies. This treaty ultimately lead to American victory of the war.

    This battle was fought between the towns militiamen and British troops. The British heard their was a stockpile of weapon and ammunition but they were in the hands of the militia.

  • Second Continental Congress

    This was a convention where the delegate met to decided what to do next to do with Great Britain. In the end, the delegates were able to decides that petitions were no longer necessary as battles have already been fought and war has already begun.
  • Bunker Hill

    This battler was fought in colonial held territory between the militias and British troops. The British were determined to take the colonial position, under General Howe's leadership the British took the hill but a large cost of lives. The colonial soldier did not have the supplies to win the battle and all forces were forced to retreat.
  • Olive Branch Petition

    This was a the final attempt to avoid a war with Britain. The petition was that the colonist wanted their right that they had in England and they are going to give their loyalty to the king.
  • Decleration of Independence

    The D.O.I was the document that was drafted by some of the most influential delegates like Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams. A copy of the document was sent to the King and if the cause were to be lost, all the signers would be charged with treason and be possible executed.

    This town was captured by General Washington and the Continental Army crossed the Delaware River in the cold Christmas night. The fight was a win for the Americans as they were able to defeat the troops stationed at the town set by the British.

    This place was where tow battles took place where the Continental Army claimed victory. This cause their turning point in the war since this battler is what secured an alliance with France.
  • Princeton

    This town was taken by General Washington and his forces after a slight distraction tactic by the generals and successful in defeating and taking the town and making the British retreat.
  • Valley Forge

    This was the site where the Continental Army were stationed for the duration of the winters during the Revolutionary War. Many soldiers died of infections and lack of food and many of them were deserting .General Washington along with some publishers tried their best to keep the morale high in the armies.

    This battle was fought near Cowpens and it was part of the Carolina Campaign. This was a decisive America victory as it totaled the British troops as this lead to the surrender of the British as they could reinforce their numbers.

    Yorktown

    This place held one of the most decisive and final battles in the America Revolutionary War. As the British could not reinforce themselves in any way or form, and bring surrounding through all side of the town, they were forced to surrender. This ended with the capture of the British general and independence of America.

    This treaty was singed by servants to the King and the Americans that ended the Revolutionary War and gave the colonist their hard fought independence.

    John Locke (Social Contract and Natural Rights)

    Locke was a philosopher from England who was able to inspire the Enlightenment. During this time, he wrote the social contract and Two Treaties of Government in which he states that all governments should protect the natural right of the people. Eventually Locke's philosophies and ideal would later effect the U.S Constitutions.
