    Signing of The Declaration of Independence
    The signing of The Declaration of Independence occured on July 4th,1776. The Declaration of Independence was made to break away from the rule of Great Britain and King George III.
  • The Declaration of Independence is read to the colonists

    After The Declaration of Independence was signed the public needed to know about it so a public reading was held. The people were satisfied with what was heard and so the The Declaration of Independence was put into place.
  • The Hessians take over Fort Washington in New York

    Along with General Wilhelm von Knyphausen a group of 3000 Hessians followed to take over Fort Washington. Overall the Americans did lose, literally losing over 2000 men.
  • Washington crosses the Delaware

    After the Hessians attacked, George Washington set out onto an expedition. He made his way to Trenton to rescue the 2000 captives.
  • The American Flag is Adopted

    The American flag is roughly the foundation of America and we would be nowhere without it.
  • Fort Ticonderoga is Surrendered to the British

    General Arthur St.Clair surrendered Fort Ticonderoga. John Burgoyne, a British general, successfully gained access to Fort Ticonderoga by using cannons to force the general and his men out.

  • Washington and his troops move to Valley Forge, their winter quarters.

    Washington and his army of 11,000 were moved to their winter quarters. Many suffered fatal diseases and died through this harsh winter.
  • French and the United States sign the French Alliance

    The U.S. and the French signed the French alliance because they used it as a way to side with one another. For example if the British were ever to attack, the U.S. is there to back them up and help fight.
  • Charleston,South Carolina is captured by the British

    The British capturing Charleston,SC was a very fatal move. With over 3000 men captured and over 200 killed, the capturing of Charleston will forever remain a heavy hitter to the colonies.
  • The Tories are defeated by the Patriots at Hanging Rock,SC

    The Tories were defeated at HangingRock,SC. The Tories were American colonists who were on the side of Great Britain, and Patriots are American colonists on the side of the colonies.
  • The Pennslyvania Line Mutiny

    The Pennslyvania Line Mutiny was when American soilders requested a higher pay and better housing. This eventually ended after the government came to a agreement.
  • The Articles of Confederations is taken under account

    The Articles of Confederation was made by the Thirteen colonies as its first written constitution. After the colonies broke away from Great Britain, The Articles of Confederation were the way the colonies knew the rules of their government.

    The British Prime Minister, Frederick North, resigned from his mantle. He led Great Britain through a number of things in the American Revolution, however he was forced out of his position.

    After taking over Charleston,SC, the British were given the call to leave. The battle at Charleston will still remain very well known since there it was very big loss towards the colonies.
