  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    The battle of Lexington and Concord was fought between the British and Colonists. It is recongnized as 'the shot heard 'round the world" for it being the first real battle between the Patriots and redcoats. The battle was won by the Patriots and was the beggining of the Revolution
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    The Battle of Bunker Hill, was mostly fought on Breeds Hill and once again fought between British and Patriots. Although, the British had won the battle, the Americans lost about twice as many men as the British, and was considered by some of the colonists as an actual victory.
  • Signing of Declaration of Independance

    Signing of Declaration of Independance
    the Declaration of Independance was signed on July 4th, it stated that all colonies had were no longer part of Britan and were now their own independant country. One of the most famous signers was John Hancock who signed his name the largest, he had stated he did so so that the “fat old King could read it without his spectacles". One of my personal favorite parts of the documant was that all men have "certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness"
  • Battle of Long Island

    This battle was won by the British. The Colonists attempted to hold Long Island from the British, it was a decisive victory early in the war. Surprisingly, the Colonists were led in this battle by George Washington, who was a major general at the time
  • Battle of Trenton

    Battle of Trenton
    The Battle of Trenton was fought between the Patriots and this time, the Hessian Mercenaries. The Hessians are a group of elite hired soldiers from the state of Hesse in what is currently Germany. The Battle is looked at as a turning point in the War, and it was the last attack before the enlistments of the continental Army would run out of time.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Battle of Saratoga
    This battle was more of a series of assasinations. The American sharpshooters followed the British all through the thick forrests of New York, The leader of the British was General Burgoyne.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    Fought in Virginia, this Battle was the last major conflict of the war, it was a decisive win for the Continental Army, and the French army whom fought alongside the Patriots in the battle. The batlle ended when Cornwallis decided to finally surrender. Many German Hessians also fought in this battle.

    This treaty marked the end of the war. It was signed between the United States of America, and Great Britan. Other nations like France, Spain, and the Dutch Republic had seperate treaties
