Lexington and Concord
On April 17, 1775, the British General, Thomas Gage, a group of soldiers (700) to destroy colonist's guns and ammuntion that they stored at Concord. While doing this Thomas Gage also wanted them to capture Samuel Adams and John Hancock. Paul Revere rode into town and warned the colonists as well as Samuel Adams and John Hancock that the British were lined up and coming to Lexington. The Second Continental Congress
In Philadelphia, on May 10, 1775, delegates of the thirteen colonies met to decide if they should get an army/malitia, and who should be running it. Some of these delegates where John Hancock, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin. They did decide to make a militia and put George Washington as Commander in Chief of the Continental Army. -
The Battle of Bunker Hill
The spies for the Patriots heard the British were going to attack Breed's Hill. George Washington sent 1600 men for reinforcements. The Patriots held off two charges but then had to retreat the third charge as General Howe of the British led 2600 Troops towards them and British Warships. British gained control of Breed's Hill but suffered 226 deaths and 828 injuries. -
Common Sense
This was written by Thomas Paine. It was one of the first works that was asking for Independence from Great Britiain based on what the king has done and how he has not fixed the problems he has created for the colonists. This obviously was written to speak to the Americans about breaking away from Great Britiain. The impact of this work was persuading the Americans to break away, giving them a reason to attack GB and the king, and giving them a reason to have self-government. -

Thomas Jefferson wrote this document to explain a basis on the self-government needed by America. It was written between June 11 and June 28, 1776. This was written because America needed a government during this time and this was basically the written laws for the government. The message was that America is now broken away from Great Britian and has it's own government. It impacted America to take stand and be proud of their new country because it is now controlled with there very own governmen -
Battle of Trenton
Washington knew British general, Charles Cornwallis, was rushing towards him while Washington was marching to Princeton. So Washington did a surprise attack and marched Christmas Eve night, they attacked the British first thing in the morning and defeated them. This defeat of the British made America capture 906 of the soldiers and killed 22 of them. -
The Battle of Princeton
After the Battle of Trenton Washington marched on. British General Charles Cornwallis knew Washington was on his way to Princeton. Once again Washington tricked the British by leaving there fires on at night and hiding in the dark, when the British arrived he circled them and attacked. The British retreated. These two battles in a row, (The Battle of Trenton also), gave America momentum and hope while the British fail twice in around, getting crushed hard. -

The Battle of Yorktown
The Siege of Yorktown or Battle of Yorktown was the last battle of you the Revolutionary War. With forces from American and the French they managed to capture Yorktown from a British general Cornwallis surrender. This battle soon led to the negotiation called the Treaty of Paris. -

Treaty of paris ended the revolutionary war it was sighned in paris by Benjamin Franklin, John Adams and John Jay. The British recognized the independence of the united states and Britian agreed to remove all its troops from the nation.
