The Boston Massecre
Incident in which British Soldiers fired on an unarmed crowd of Bostonians. They killed 5 people including a man named Crispis Attucks, who was the first african-american to die in the journey for freedom to the patriots. -
The First Continental Congress
Meeting held in Philadelphia by delegates from all the colonies. They discussed whether or not to ban all trade with Britian until the Intolerabe Acts were repealed. -
Paul Revere's Midnight Ride
Paul Revere was ordered to ride to Lexington to warn Samuel adams and John Hancock that the British troops were coming to arrest them. He warned the people of the country-side also. -
Shot heard around the world
At dawn 4,000 Minutemen and Militiamen arrived at Lexington and Concord. They peppered redcoats with musket fire. The very first shot was said to be the shot heard around the world. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
Battle actually fought ontop of Breeds Hill where the Americans fought and lost but took out 1,000 British soldiers. -
Olive Branch Petition
A document sent to London by Congress requesting to restore peace and Harmony between Britian and the colonies.The King rejected it and took new measures to punish the colonies. -
Commen Sense
A patriot named Thomas Paine wrote "Commen Sense." This pamphlet challenged the authority of the King and the British Government. This was the first work to ask for independence from Great Britain openly. -
The Declaration of Independence
Document that declared American Independence from Britian. Some of the people who signed it were Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Samuel Adams, John Hancock, and Thomas Jefferson, who signed his name very big to make sure the King saw it. There were also many others who signed it. -
Battle of Trenton
George Washington and his men crossed the Deleware River to surprise attack the british and 1,200 Hessians. They won without any casualties. The attack was also synchronized. -
Battle of Saratoga
The turning point of the Revolutionary War where Horatio Gates led his army to an old army camp called saratoga and defeated Burgoyne and his men. This battle prevented the British from dividing the States and isolating New England.
