Sugar Act
This act was established on April 5th because the goverement needed more money some how to pay for the French and Indian War, which was a VERY expensive war. So, the parliment put taxes on many many things. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp act was an act that put taxes on Stamps. Why did they tax stamps? Because, the French and Indian War was a VERY expensive put off for the Americans. Not only did they tax stamps they taxed other things, too. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was the killing of five colonists by British regulars on March 5, 1770. The American colonies were filled with tension because it had been growing since Royal troops first appeared in Massachusetts in October 1768 to enforce the heavy tax burden created by the Townshend Acts. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
This battle was the kickoff of the Revolutionary War. Dozens of British troops marched from Boston to Concord in order to force a seize against the Patriots. Paul Revere heard the alarm and tried to escape. But he had no luck. Britist Victory. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
This battle took place on the Charlestown Peninsula on the North side of Boston Harbour on breeds hill. The British shot from above on top of the hill when the Patriots were t the bottom. The British had a huge advantage because of their aim spot and we (Patriots) had loss of ammuntition and were forced to use anything we could find laying around to shoot. This was a pamphlet that embeded the ways of Common Sense. Thomas Paine, as the author, made a huge reputation as a writer and an author from this. -
Battle of Long Island
George Washington moved his troops to New York expecting the British arrival. Then unexpectedly the British arrived in attack. British took victory. -
Battle of Trenton
The battle was fought between the Americans against the Hessians and British troops after the Americans lost the battle in New York and were forced to retreat through New Jersey. The Patriots snuck up on the Hessians while they were sleeping and attacked. We were succsesful! The battle began on December 25, 1776 and ended on December 26, 1776 -
Battle of Valley Forge
George Washingtons troops were left with no shoes or material for protection. This was the biggest turning point of the Revolution. -
Battle of Yorktown
This battle took place in Virgina and Benidict Arnold led the Patriots and the British was led by Cornwallis. The Patriots seiged the Britsh deffence and caused them to surrender. When the Patriots took the victory, they took 8,000 prisoners from the British. This was the last major battle of the Revorlution -
Treaty of Paris
The Treaty of Paris was signed on Sep. 3rd 1783 to declare the end of the Revolutionary War.
