At 9:00 am, on August 27 1776 , Washington arrived from Manhattan , he sent troops to Brooklyn to Manhattan. The British wanted control after The United States declared it's independence. -
British occupation of New York
General Howe landed at Kip’s Bay, General Washington Tripp’s were spread thin so they had to retreat & save some of the troops from being captured. It was a British maneuver during the New York campaign during the Revolutionary war. -
Nathan Hale was hanged.
Nathan Hale was an American Patriot , he was a volunteer & was hanged for spying on the British Troops he was sent to get information the Washington, he was then caught by the British & then hanged. His last word was " I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country". -

The battle of Valcour Island was a battle of the navy. It was the British & allies vs. Benedict Arnold. American Battleships were sent by Benedict , but were captured by British forces & destroyed. General Carleton had a 9,000 man army at Fort Saint-Jean, but needed to build a fleet to carry it on the lake, they had destoryed most of the ships on the Lake -
Battle of Pell's Point
This fight was in the Bronx New York on October 18 1776, it was between the British & American troops during the New York & New York campaign of the American Revolutionary War. The British soldiers were sent to trap the American soldiers so Washington fought back , which resulted in 8 killed & 13 wounded American soldiers & 3 killed & 20 wounded British soldiers. The British were beaten & they had to moved their British & German forces from Pell's point to Throg's point. -
Battle of White Plains.
Battle of White Plains was a battle in the New York and New Jersey campaign of the American Revolutionary War fought in White Plains, New York. General Howe landed about 12,000 men in Manhattan, this led to New York wanting to fight back. -
Battle of Fort Washington
This was a battle between Great Britain & The United States, this was one of three attacks that General Howe planned. General Howe defeated the continental army in the white plains battle , this led to the battle of fort Washington. The British did win this battle. -
