April 1919: Bombing plot - 36 explosives mailed to US government officials.
On June 19th, 8 bombs in different cities simultaneously exploded. -

The second red scare occurred after WWII, and was nicknamed ‘McCarthyism after it’s biggest supporter. -

Started by Senator Joseph McCarthy. Accused thousands of Americans of being a part of/ supporting communism, which then led to aggressive investigations and questioning from government officials. -

HUAC
The HUAC (House Un-American Activities Committee) created a Blacklist. This contained a list of people who were thought to be communists. No one would hire people from this list, and it destroyed careers for many people -
