Holmes needed to learn more about the lodger, so Holmes began to investigate about him and he asked Mrs Warren about every detail. -
The face in the mirror
Holmes found secret messages in the newspaper through which he thought the lodger and a mysterious person communicated, Holmes thought that the lodger was in danger. -
Danger
Holmes and Watson discovered that the lodger was a young woman. The lodger was sending to the opposite house light flashes as signals to the mysterious person saying PERICOLO! and there was where they met a detective from Scotland Yard. -
Giuseppe Gorgiano
Gregson, Leverton, Holmes and Watson went up to the red building to see what happened. The room on the third floor was dark and silent and there was a dead man lying on the floor. -

Gennaro killed the man. The woman explained to Holmes why his husband killed the man. It was a long story which began in Italy. -
