Marconi was an Italian inventor. Marconi also invented the Radio in 1895. Sent and received the first radio signal.

Audion Tube

Feb 1, 1906

Lee De Forest created the audion tue in 1906. A vacuum tube that amplified signals. It is said that a canadian named Reginald Fessenden came up with the idea.

Titanic

Apr 15, 1912

The radio on the Titanic saved ALOT of lives that day. The Titanic doesn't have wires cnnecting to land so they aded a adio to communicate. If they haven't sent a signal they wouldn't have ever known that the Titanic had even sank.

Radio Sation

The first radio station was transmitted in 1920. It was named 8XK but later renamed KDKA. it is still bradcasting in Pittsburg, Pennyslvania. It was commercial free.

Advertising

Radio Stations make money by advertising. The first radio station who aired a paid commercial were WEAF. It lasted 10 minutes.

THe FRC is short for the Federal Radio Commission.

am = 535Khz - 1605Khz.
(am) is less powerful than (Fm)

Fm - Frequency Modulation.
Fm = 88 - 108 Mhz.

Once the first tv was made they decided to make tv shows.
They tried to convert the radio shows to tv shows.
but the people who played the charcters on radio couldn't be on tv.
