Event #1: Effie gets the news
During the annual Talbot Christmas morning, Effie and her siblings (Bean and Gus) get delivered the news by her dad and stepmother that they are getting a divorce. Immediately from here, Effie's world turns upside down. She was absolutely heartbroken and did not see this divorce coming at all. She thought her father and stepmother were happier than ever. -
Event #2: Greenoaks Selling & the Party
Two years has passed since the divorce of Effie's father, Tony and her stepmother, Mimi. Effie was surprised to see her father immediately dating a new woman, Krista. Once Krista had Tony wrapped around her finger, she made the executive decision to sell the Talbot family house, Greenoaks. Once Effie found out, she was devastated. What was even more shocking was that the house-cooling party that Krista decided to throw included everyone in the family except for Effie. -
Event #5: Effie Watches Secrets Unfold
As Effie sneaks around the house trying to find her dolls, she finds herself snooping through the vent that leads to Romilly and Gus' room. To Effie's surprise, she see's Gus holding a pregnancy test that says "positive". Effie immediately tells her sister, Bean, about how Romilly is pregnant, but Bean has even bigger news. Bean informs Effie that test was not Romilly's, but her own. Effie's in such pleasant shock, she cannot wait to be an aunt! -
Event #8: Krista & Tony Break Things Off
Krista becomes so enraged that Effie will never like her being around, so Krista begins arguing with Effie and the whole family. Tony pulls Krista for a private conversation, and Krista walks out with no ring on her finger anymore, while saying "I'm done. Your dad and I are over". to Effie. The family feels sorry for Tony, but they all know the family will be better off without Krista. -
Event #7: Balcony Blows Effie's Cover
Joe joins the formal after-party, and Effie contemplates making a grand appearance. As she stands over the balcony watching the family enjoy dessert, the balcony gives out and Effie falls off right in front of the family. Joe comes to rescue her, and now the family know's about Effie's spying and her new relationship as well. -
Event #3: Effie Decides to Crash the Party
While Effie tries to act unfazed about not being invited to the party, she realizes that her precious Russian dolls are still hidden in the attic of Greenoaks. She panics and knows that she must retrieve them before the house is sold. Since she was not invited, Effie does not want to show up to the party as a guest. Effie has the idea to dress in all black attire, and sneak her way into the party to quickly grab her dolls and escape the party, leaving no evidence behind. -
Event #4: Effie Gets Caught
To Effie's surprise, retrieving her dolls during a house party was going to be a lot more difficult than she anticipated. Because the living room was occupied with guests, Effie passed time by hiding in a rose bush outside the front door. As her ex boyfriend, Joe, checks in to the party, he notices Effie in the bushes. He approaches her with confusion on why she isn't attending normally like everyone else. Effie explains that she has a mission, and for Joe to keep quiet about her attendance. -
Event #6: Effie and Joe Rekindle
For the remainder of the party, Effie searches for her dolls, but no luck. She figures that checking the treehouse wouldn't hurt, but she see's that Joe is already hiding out there. She joins him and they talk about why their past relationship ended, and Effie can't deny her feelings for Joe that she still has. Eventually, Joe makes a move and the couple is back together. -
Event #9: Family Turns Back Into Family
After the Talbot family processes everything that happened at the party, Effie decides she will throw her own party to say goodbye to Greenoaks, the right way. Effie and her father make amends and become close again, and Joe enters the family as well with Effie by his side. Bean takes things easy due to her pregnancy, and the father of her baby meets the rest of the family. The Talbot's haven't been happier! -
Event #10: Happily Ever After
Bean and Adam (the baby's father) move in together and have their baby girl, Skye. Effie and Joe are attached at the hip, and Gus has broken things off with Romilly after realizing how toxic his relationship with her was. Tony started to date again and take things slow. The family learns to appreciate each other no matter what, and enjoy the present. Everybody is happy and content, with only more good to come!
