Napoleons Birth
Napoleon was born on Aug 15, his parents were Carlo Buonaparte and Letizia Ramolino. He was born in Ajaccio, France. He was one of many brothers and sisters in his family. -
Becoming an officer in the French army
Napoleon was sent to a Military school when he was 16 in 1785 to become the officer of the military. He would them to become a Lieutenant at the age of 19. -
Military campaign in Egypt and Syria:
Napoleon tried to campaign in Egypt to disrupt British, India trading in 1798. It turned out to be a complete failure and he hid this loss from France and especially the press so his loss could not spread. -
Coup d’état
In 1799 he took over the weak government of France and set up a 3 man governing board called the consulate. -
Napoleon’s coronation
In 1801 he had enough power to become Emperor of France and on the day of his coronation he took the crown from the pope and placed it upon his head. -
Napoleonic code
The Code was a set of Enlightened Principles that gave all men equality, tolerated religion and also abolished Feudalism. -
The Battle of Wagram
A battle that took place in 1809. It was the Austrians seeking revenge from Napoleon's army. But once again Napoleon triumphed again. This battle was named The Battle of Wagram. After the battle Austria had to surrender land occupied by 3 million Austrians. -
The Battle of Trafalgar
In 1804, The battle of Trafalgar took place on the southwest coast of Spain. British came in and annihilated the French fleet. This caused him to be unable to take over Britain. -
Joseph Bonaparte becomes King of Spain
After Spain was taken over by Napoleon he made his brother Joseph Bonaparte king of Spain. -
The Grand Empire
Napoleon had taken over many places in Europe and made this area a Grand Empire since he took over these areas. -
Invasion of Russia
Napoleon led a 600,000 men army along with 50,000 horses to invade Russia after they backed off the Continental System in 1812. But the invasion failed after he wasn't able to feed his army and the cold forced them to turn and go home. Only 20,000 soldiers made it out alive from hunger and the cold. -
Battle of the Nations (Leipzig)
In 1813 Russia, Britain, Austria, and Prussia made an alliance they defeated the weak French army in The Battle of the Nations. -
Napoleon’s exile to Elba
Napoleon was exiled to Elba after his step down from power. But he was not gone for good. -
Napoleon’s return
Napoleon escaped Elba around 1815 and returned to France. He was triumphed as he entered Paris showing his power was great. -
The Battle of Waterloo
This battle that took place 100 days after his return. It was the Prussia, Austria, Britain and Russia who fought the French again in a day long battle. He was eventually defeated once again and had to be exiled again. -

Napoleon’s exile to St. Helena
After the Battle of Waterloo he was exiled to St. Helena. He would not return to France again and would die in 1821.
