Pandemonium
Clary and her best friend Simon go to a club named the Pandemonium. During the partying, Clary witnesses a murder of a boy. The murderers claim him to be a demon but she doesn't choose to believe them. Then she realizes she is the only one who can see them. The next day, her mother and her have a fight. Clary leaves with Simon to Java Jones for some coffee and poetry reading, only to find Jace, the man who killed the 'demon'. -
Shadowhunter
The next day, her mother and her have a fight. Clary leaves with Simon to Java Jones for some coffee and poetry reading, only to find Jace, the man who killed the 'demon'. Knowing that she was the only who can see him, she goes outside to talk to him. He tells her that he is a shadowhunter and that she is not human. -
Missing
While forcing an explenation from Jace, Clary recieves a call from her mother saying not to come home. She was being attacked. Clary ran home to find her house destroyed and her mom missing. She also stumbled across a Ravener demon who attacked her while mentioning the name Valentine. She fought with whatever she could and finally killed the demon. Jace appeared and was amazed that she killed the demon with no weapons. Clary had been bitten by the demon which made her feel weak and she fainted. -
The Truth
Clary woke up 3 days later in the Institute. She is told about her mother's past and she had shadowhunter blood. Luke, her mother's close friend, rejects her offer to go with him. She has no where else to go, so she had to stay in the Institute. -
Madame Dorothea
Clary and Jace go to Clary's house to see if anything could help them find her mother. They arrive there but are attacked by a forsaken who Jace then kills. They go inside her home to find everything missing. They go to Clary's neighbor's house to ask for any information. Madame Dorothea, a witch, tries to her future but there was a block in her mind. Clary sees the deck of cards that her mother painted and realized that her and the witch had a plan to work together to escape. -
Portal
Clary sees a portal in Madame Dorothea's house and she is informed that it was her mother's escape plan. She went through it hoping that it would lead her to her mother. She ends up at Luke's house. While there they decide to search his house for anything that will help them. They find Simon hiding. They all go into Luke's house and overheard him talking to 2 other men who worked for Valentine and demanded Luke to give them the Cup, but he said he didn't have it or knew where it was. -
The Circle
Clary, Jace, and Simon head back to the Institute to inform Hodge about what they heard. Hodge tells them about the Circle which included, himself, Clary's mother, Valentine, the Lightwoods, Jace's father, Luke, and others. They were all afraid of Valentines pland to destroy all the half demons who had no threat to them. -
Silent Brothers
Clary finds out that she has a block in her mind and that one way to remember her past was by going to the Silent Brothers. She went to the City of Bones where all of the Silent Brothers tried to read her mind but couldn't. Though they did find the name of the warlock who put the block in her head. -
Magnus Bane
They go to Magnus Bane's party. Magnus tells Clary that he cannot remove the block but it will wear off. He also tell her about her and her mother's past. Meanwhile, Simon turned into a rat and was missing. Clary hurried to find him and she did. Later on she realized he was missing from the party sand the Vampires took him. -
Hotel of Death
Clary and Jace go to save simon from the Vampires but are attacked. Clary snatches him from the Vampires and runs away. They try to fight back but there are too many. Theen, werewolves come in and attack the vampires, saving Clary and Jace time to escape. -
Birthday
Clary, Jace, and Simon go back to the Institute. Jace remembered it was Clary's birthday and made a picnic for her. They kiss and go back to her room to find Simon. Simon and Jace got the wrong idea and Jace walked away. Simon admits his love for Clary but she had nothing to say, so he left home. -
Runes and a drawing
Clary finds out that she can make an object appear by drawing runes. She then realized that the Cup was in the tarot card that Madame Dorothea had, and that her mother painted. She informs the others and tells them that her mother placed it in the card, -
Abbadon
They all go to Madame Dorothea's house to get the Cup. They tell her where the Cup is and she gives Clary the card. Clary pull out the Cup. Madame Dorothea turns into Abbado, a powerful demon. They all got injured and couldn't fight anymore but Simon saves them by shooting an arrow at it. -
Valentine
They go to the Institute with the Cup and hand it to Hodge. Valentine appears through a portal and takes the Cup and Jace. Hodge leaves. Clary goes after Hodge but he attacks her. Luke comes in and saves her. -
Werewolves vs. Forsaken
Luke tells Clary everything about his and Jocelyn's past and why Valentine wants the Cup. Clary tells him that she knows where Valentine is hiding. Clary, Luke, and the werwolf pack go to their hideout. When they arrive the Foresaken attack the werewolves. -
More truth
Valentine and Jace are found by Clary and Luke. They find out Clary and Jace are siblings. Luke and Valentine try to kill themselves while Jace holds Clary back. Clary escapes from his grip and goes in front of Luke so he won't be killed. Luke then turns into a werwolf and attacks Valentine. -
Escape
Valentine escapes through the portal. He takes the Cup and smashes the portal. -
Clary's Mother
Clary visits her mother in the hospital. She is still sleeping and Clary hasn't left her side. Luke tells her to take a brake and go home. She goes to the Institute and Jace and her try to ignore the fact that they are siblings, even though they love each other. They go for a ride on the motorcycle and she sees all the different creatures in New York.
