Getting ready for the night
It was a cold and wet night in the small parlor of laburnum villa. Father and son were playing chess while the wife was getting food ready for dinner. -
Unexpected guest
All of a sudden, sergeant major morris, a friend of Mr. white who served with the british army in india, comes by to have dinner with the whites and shows them a item that he found. -
The Monkey's paw
The paw was cursed by an old fakir (very holy man) a long time ago and will grant three wishes with big consequences to three different men. The first men asked for death on his last wish and then morris found it. The purpose of the curse was to show that fate is something that shouldn't be altered and those who done it will do to their sorrow -
True or Fake
When morris told white about the paw and his plan on selling the paw and that it will be useless because nobody will believe it and if they do, it will cause a lot of problems than it already has. So he throws it into the fire, but morris gets it back. Morris warns him that if he wishes for something, that he wishes for something sensible or just don't wish. -
200 Pounds
Herbert, laughing in fear about what happened, told his father that the soldiers lied to him and that wishes couldn't be granted, so he ignores them. So he tolds his father that he should wish for 200 pouns which will be the last payment of the house, but it wouldn't come on the way he thought. -
Herbert's death
The next day herbert was getting ready to head out and head to work. A couple hours after herbert left, a suspicious man was walking outside the house and the whites were aware of it. Later on, the man knock on their door with some horrible news. He told mrs. white that his son was badly hurt but in no pain, until she realize what actually happened. The man offered a recompense for his son's services and white said 200 pounds and finally fainting on the floor. -
The resurrection
10 days and a week after their son's death and funeral, the white's started frustrating about their son not being with them when suddenly, they came up with an idea. Mrs. white told her husband that they should use their second wish to bring back their son, but Mr. white doesn't trust it. So they do it. -
The Final Wish
Moments after the wish was made. A loud knock on the door was heared. Suddenly, Mr. white started to had chills and got scared on the fact that the boy they knew before was gone and what was on the door, was his mutulated body. Mrs. white quickly attempts to open the door, but Mr. white blocks it. Finally, using his final wish, Mr. white uses the monkey's paw to wish that whatever was behind the door would be gone. In the end, the door is opne and air comes out and Mrs. white wails in misery.
