    Magna Hungaria

    Magna Hungaria was in Bashkira. They lived halfway settled and halfway nomadic life. They learnt new ways of life for example: agriculture.They could talk in hungarian and their vocabulary improved there e.g.: eke(plough),
    disznó(swine). There were 7 tribes (Nyék, Megyer, Tarján, Jenő, Kér, Keszi, Kürt-Gyarmat). The existence of Magna Hungaria was proven by Friar Julianus hungarian dominican monk.

    Levédia

    In the 8th century the majority of the magyars moved to levédia. lt bordered the Don, Donets and Azov seas. Khazar Khagnate lived there and the Magyars had to pay taxes to them. They organised their nomadic state and the dual principality based on the Khazar model. Dual principality: Gyula was the leader of the army. Kende was the leader of the religion.

    Etelköz

    The area between the river Dnieper and Dniester and Danube where they lived in the 9th century. According to the legend the blood oath was made here, which was the symbol of unity. Álmos or his son, Árpád was elected to Grand Prince of the "Hetumoger" tribes. It was a plain so it was very hard to defend so they were forced towards the carpathian basin.

    The main army entered the basin through the Verecke pass led by Árpád, other Magyars entered the basin through other passes.

    They occupied Transylvania first in the Carpathian Basin because few people lived there.

    Magyars defeated the Moravians.

    Bavarians and Bulgars

    Magyars defeated the Bavarians and Bulgars and conquered the entire Carpathian Basin.

    Incursions

    They were mostly towards the west(e.g.: Italy) and sometimes the south(e.g.: Byzantine Empire). Their goal was to plounder, intimidate the neighbours, explore and conquer more areas.

    I. Henry defeated the Magyars. It was their first defeat.

    Augsburg

    Otto I ( first emperor of the Holy Roman Empire) defeated the Magyars. Bulcsú and Lehel were executed. The legend of the horn of Lehel is connected to this.

    Prince Grand Géza

    Géza became the Grand Prince in 972. He was baptised. He had a strategic marriage with Sarolt(daugther of the ruler of Transylvania).
