The Fall of the roman Empire
A number of factors lead to the fall of the Roman Empire:-
• It had become too big to administer properly and defend.
• The gap between rich and poor had increased. The peasants became more disillusioned and were being taxed heavily.
• Roman army commanders became less disciplined and and started fighting between themselves.
• Roman land management practices were very poor, soil fertility was reduced and the food stores shrunk. -

From about 2000BC the Vikings lived in the countries of Sweden, Denmark and Norway. The areas they lived in were very mountainous, boggy, thickly forested and contained steep icy fjords.
The peoples from these regions lived in small isolated communities, but had a lot in common. They were farmers (crops and animals), fished, curved wood, metal and stone and embroidered tapestries.
They were also excellent traders – trading in furs, -
