Silent Generation is born
The Silent Generation was born between 1928 and 1945. The majority of the population at this time would have lived through the Great Depression, which would influence the culture they created post-WWII. -

Baby Boomers are born
The Baby Boomers were born between 1946 and 1964. They grew up during the economic boom that occurred right after WWII and didn't face as many economic setbacks as their parents and great-grandparents faced. This contributed to the culture that they created during the 70s. -
The Counterculture of the 1960s

Expensive Housing Market (2020s)
The average price of a house in the U.S. is over $400,000. Boomers own roughly 43.2% of all real estate in the U.S. Even if the high prices aren't directly caused by Baby Boomers, little is done by them to fix the problem for the younger generations who can't afford to by a house. -
Social Security
Social Security expenses amount to over $1 trillion each year. Consider, too, that the average Baby Boomer has a net worth of $1.2 million. Many Baby Boomers do not need social security and yet, they still receive the benefits from the program.
