Life Span of Edward Allan Poe
Poe was a famous American author who led a very tragic and twisted life that ultimately influenced his writing. -
Father abandoned family.
When Poe was a year old his father left the family creating the start of his tragic life. -
Poe becomes a foster kid
After his mom dies and his dad left him in under three years he becomes a foster child and separated from his siblings. -
Poe's mother dies of tuberculosis.
Poe's mom had died when he was almost three years old leaving him with no parents. -
First loves dies when he was fifteen
His first love Jane Stith Craig Stanard of brain cancer when he was fifteen leaving him with another loss of a woman he loved. -
Sent to boarding school
While his foster Mom was suffering of tuberculosis his foster father sends him to boarding schools because he was having affairs with women and did not want Poe to be in the way. -
Gets in financial trouble while in boarding school
After being sent to boarding school he became in extreme financial debt. His foster father refused to send him money. He was so poor he broke his furniture to feed his fire to stay warm. -
Moves in with Aunt
After dropping out of college he got a job but had to use a different name to stay out of trouble. He ends up losing his job and has to move in with his aunt. Foster mom dies in 1829. -
Life with Aunt
While living with his aunt he goes on a drinking binge. He also falls in love with his 12 year old cousin. -

Marriage of Poe and Virginia
In 1835 he marries his cousin when he was 26 and she was 13. Poe's life was okay at this time because he has love from Virginia. Until she dies in 1847 of Tuberculosis. -
His death
In October he was found semi conscious on a street in Baltimore. On October 7 1849 he died
