The battle started on April 12, 1861 to April 13, 1861. It was located near Charleston, South Carolina. It was the first battle of the civil war and was the start of the war. The Confederates started the battle by bombarding Fort Sumter. The South had the first victory of the Civil War. -

The battle was located near Manassas, Virginia. The commader of the Union Army was Irvin McDowell and the commander of the Confederate Army was Thomas J. Jackson. It was another Confederate victory. Everyone thought that the war was over. Little did they know that it was only the beginning. -

The battle lasted from march 8th to the 9th, 1862. John Worden was the commander for the union army and Franklin Buchanan and Catesby R. Jones were the commanders for the Confederate army. The battle was located in Virginia. Was the most important naval battle in the civil war. -
Battle of Shiloh
The battle lasted from April 6th to the 7th,1862. The battle was located near Pittsburg Landing, Tennessee. The commander for the Union army was Willian Tecumseh Sherman. The commander for the Confederate army was Pierre Beaunegar. It was a Union victory. The battle came at a cost of 13,000 deaths of the union soldiers and 1/4 of the confederate army was lost. -
2nd Battle of Bull Run
The battle lasted until the 30th of August, 1862. It was located in Manassas, Viginia. Pope was the commander for the union army. Jackson was the commander of the confederate army. It was a confederate victory. It ended the union threat in Virginia. -
The Battle of Antietam
It was located near Sharpsburg Maryland. The commander of the union army wa George McCellan. The commander of the confederate army was Robert E. Lee. It was a union victory. McCellan could have finnished off the confederates, but he did not follow and he was fired for doing so. -
Battle of Fredricksburg
The battle was located in Fredricksburg, Virginia. The commander of the union army at the time was Ambose Burnside. The commander for the confederate army was Robert E. Lee. It was a confederate victory. It led to 12,600 union casualties. -
Emancipation Proclamtion
Abraham Lincoln issuded a degree that stated that unless all confederate states returned to the union, them all slaves would become free. It did not free all slaves. Allowed African Americans to become soldiers for the union army. -
Battle of Chancerllorsville
It lasted from the 30th of April to the 6th of May, 1863. It was located in Chancerllorsville, Virginia. The commander of the union army was Joseph Hooker. The Commander of the confederate army was Robert E. Lee. It was a confederate victory. It also was an union disaster. General Jackson died. -
Battle of Gettysburg
The battle lasted until July 3rd. It was located in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.The commander of the union army was George Meade. The commander of the confederate army was Robert E. Lee. It was an Union victory. Sheran's success let them capture Atlanta. -
Siege of Atlanta
The battle was located in Atlanta, Geargia. The commander of the union army was Sherman. The commander of the confderate army was Hood. Union victory. Sheramn's sucess made people vote for Abraham Lincoln in the second relection. -
Surrender at Appomattox
Robert E. Lee could not handle any more deaths of the confederate army and knew they could not win the war. Robert E. Lee surrendered that soon after realizing that. It was the end of the civil war. -
Assassination of Abraham Lincoln
Five days after the surrender of Robert E. Lee, The president, Abraham Lincoln, was assissnated. He was watching a play called Our American Cousin at Ford Theatre in Washington D.C, whe nhe was murdred. An actor, James Wilkes Booth, planned and killed Abraham Lincoln. He was the first president to be assissnated. -
Siege of Vicksburg
The battle lasted until July 4th, 1865. The commander of the union army was Ulysses S. Grant. The confederate army was Perberton. It was a union victory. A major part of the Anaconda Plan was fullfilled. -
Ratification of the 13th Amendment
It was completed by December 6th, 1865. It ended slavery officialy and made it illeagal. The institution of slavery had ended.
