He had access to computers and would be able to learn everything about a computer. He studied their functions, hardware, and software.   • Atari

    Atari
    Wozniak always had an interest in video games and through Steve Jobs, he had the chance to work for an arcade game company, Atari. He worked on the first arcade game, Pong, and later created a circuit board for the game, Breakout. Breakout gained huge popularity and can still be played on google if you search "Atari Breakout"

  • Hewlett-Packard

    Hewlett-Packard
    With just four years of college education, Wozniak got a job offer to work at Hewlett-Packard. Wozniak designed calculators and would end up working there for ten years. Although he was extremely loyal to this company, it didn't allow him to succeed at his fullest potential. He eventually left Hewlett-Packard when he founded Apple Inc.

  • The Homebrew Computer Club

    The Homebrew Computer Club
    Wozniak attended his first meeting at the Homebrew Computer Club on March 1975. The Homebrew Computer Club gave Wozniak a space to be creative and receive help on his dreams in inventing a personal computer, which would later be the Apple I computer. With the help from all the members, he was able to confidently collaborate experimentation with hardware hacking and electronic creativity.

    Together with Steve Jobs and Ronald Wayne, Steve Wozniak founded Apple Inc. on April 1, 1976. Wozniak would work on the Apple I and Apple II during this time there, among many other projects.

Wozniak had always dreamed of creating a personal computer, and the Apple I was the first time in history that allowed users to type a character on a keyboard and see it show up on the screen right in front of them.     Almost immediately after the Apple company formed, the Apple II Computer was released. The Apple II computer served as the first machine that brought computers onto the desks of ordinary people. It was the first computer to be user friendly and packaged completely with integrated hardware and software. The Apple II computer made a significant impact on the computer community and would change the idea of a personal computer for years to come.

    Wozniak was involved in an airplane crash that left him injured and suffering from anterograde amnesia for five weeks. He was unable to create new memories and claimed that the Apple II computer games helped him regain his memory. As he was injured, he saw this as an opportunity to explore other interest, and leave Apple Inc.

    Wozniak was always in charge of the hardware engineering and Steve Jobs handled the business aspect of Apple. After working together for almost 10 years, he felt like it was time to leave. The company had expanded greatly and he wanted to pursue other interests. Wozniak ended up selling most of his company stocks.

    After putting his degree on hold for 15 years, Wozniak would later receive his diploma in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in 1986. Since his name was already highly recognized, he enrolled under the name, Rocky Raccoon Clark.

    Two years after Wozniak founded the CL9 company, he released the first universal programmable remote control. The CL9 CORE remote could control any stereo, television, and other video equipment.
