I- Victoria Was Stubborn, 1820
Queen Victoria must have been very stubborn as an adult and child. We see this when she didn't give up her crown even though she was barely doing anything after Albert's death. She would not come out even when many people were angry. They thought the queen wasn't any use to the economy. The queen also argued with mother very much as a child. -
CE- Relationship Between Queen Victoria and Her Mother, 1830
When Victoria was not queen yet, her mother, and a friend of her father that died Sir John Conroy, tried to control her. They wanted to be in charge when Victoria was queen. They wanted to control Victoria. Her mother and Conroy wanted power. The effect was that Queen Victoria didn't trust them for a long time and they grew apart. She prevented them from having an opinion in her decisions until Albert reconnected them again in 1842. -

On June 20, 1837, Victoria became queen. King William IV her uncle had died, making Victoria the queen of the United Kingdom. She had been preparing for the job for a long time. Victoria had a big impact to the time period and so it was named the Victorian Era. -
ME- Queen Victoria Gets Married, 1840
On February 10, 1840, Queen Victoria got married to Prince Albert. Prince Albert was Victoria's cousin he was the duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. The time before they got married they wrote many letters to each other, but Queen Victoria was independent and waited until marriage.They eventually got married at St. Jame's Palace in London. The wedding drew many crowds and music. -

In the Buckingham Palace on November 21, 1840, Queen Victoria had her firstborn child. The queen's first child was named Princess Victoria. All in all she had 9 children total. They were the first to live in the Buckingham Palace. She loved her family and wanted to live a normal life. She made sure education was very important to her children as it was to her. -

Victoria's reign was peaceful and there was many changes. She was the longest reigning monarch in the history of Britain. She ruled all the people in the British empire. During that time, the British Empire had been largely expanding. The British empire included Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and America. She remained calm and created a period of prosperity. -
ME- Death of Albert, 1861
During the times Queen Victoria was pregnant, Albert worked very much. The queen relied on Albert very much as he was her prince consort. Albert had worked on many things as he took an interest in the Industrial Revolution and organizing the Great Exhibition. When he died on December 14, 1861, the queen was mourning for a long time. She became depressed and was sad up until she got the help from Prime Minister Disraeli. -

When Albert Queen Victoria's husband dies that causes the queen to be very lonely. As a result she mourns for the rest of her life. She is in such grief that she didn't appear in the open as much. She withdrew from the public for many years until the Prime Minister Disraeli. The queen only wore black for her sadness was very great, she had relied on Albert for many years. Many people even thought she should give up the crown, but she refused. -

In 1877, Queen Victoria became empress of India. The prime minister Disraeli had proclaimed the title to her. That was the first time in a long time the public saw her since the death of Albert. The queen liked to learn about India and even hired Indian workers. She never even been to India before. In India many British people have been working there. India was under the rule of the British government. -

When Victoria was queen she noticed the poor children and child labor. She made children and women stop working in mines to take care of their children. Education was important and she made children go to school. Today child labor is trying to be stopped and has been widely noticed.
