Poe's sister is born
At this point, Edgar is 1 year old. His mother gives bith to his sister, Rosalie. Shortly after her birth or possibly before it, David Poe deserts the family. This leaves Edgar's mother alone with 3 children. Soon after, as if to make matters worse, she developes tuberculosis. -
The Death of his Parents
Elizibeth Poe dies from tuberculosis and soon after so does his father, David. This leaves the 3 children without parents. They get split up, Edgar ends up going with a foster family. -
Poe Goes to College

Splits with Allens
While he was at college Poe got a huge gambling debt and he got uspet because John Allen wouldn't pay it off for him. He moved away and lived with relatives in Baltimore. College was out of the picture. -
Edgar Enlists in the Army and his First Book is Published
His first book was publushed not long after he enrolled in the army. It was a book that consisted of poetry. This allowed the world to see his work, and it changed the way people viewed writing forever. -
Death of Foster Mother
By now Poe was a sergent major in the army. He was still close to his foster mother even though he had a major diasagreement with his foster father. -

He marries his 13-year-old cousin at a ceremony in Richmond. -
The Death of his Wife
The death of Poe's wife really impacted his writting. It caused him to write more about death, and several of his most famous poems were inspired by the death of his love. He went into a great depression, and it showed in his poetry. -
Poe Dies
He is found unconsious in a gutter, taken to a hospital and pronouced dead the next day of cuases that are still unknown.
