Edgar Poe is born on Jan. 19 1809. his parents were Elizabeth Arnold Poe and David Poe. They already had one son named Henry -
Seperation
edgars father, David Poe, dserts Elizabeth with three kids. Shortly after Poes sister is born, Rosaline Poe. To make things worse Edgars mother soon falls ill with T.B. -
Loss
poes mother dies of T.B., and soon after his father dies of the same thing. with no where to go Edgar, Rosaline, and Henry are split up and put with foster parents. Edgar adopts his foster parents name as his middle name, Edgar Allan Poe. -
School
Edgar starts school in england at the age of six. Five years later at the age of eleven Poe moves back to Richmond, Virginia. -
First poem
At age fifteen Poe writes his first known poem called "Last night, with many cares & toils oppres'd,/ Weary, I laid me on a couch to rest." -
College
Edgar enrolls in the university of virginia, which had opened less than half a year before, halfway through the year. -
Leaving the Allans
After Edgar runs up a two thousand dollar debt at college John Allans won't give Poe the money. So Edgar leaves college and deserts the Allans. -
Published soldier
After leaving the Allans poe joins the army under the name Edgar A. Perry. Shortly after his book ,"tameriane and other poems", is published -

Death of a foster mother
Edgars foster mother Frances Allan, whom poe was still in touch with, dies of T.B. -
Westpoint
Poe is appointed to the military academy at West Point. A few months later his second poetry book is published, Al Aaraaf, Tamerlane and Minor Poems. -
Death of a brother
Poes brother, Henry, dies of either cholera or T.B. at the age of twenty seven. -
Marriage
Edgar, whose now twenty seven, marries his thirteen-year-old cousin Virginia Poe. -
First novel
Edgar has his first novel, The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym, published. -
Death of wife
Poes wife, Virginia Poe, dies at the age of twenty four of T.B. in their home in Philidelphia. -
Death
Edgar Allan Poe is found in a Baltimore gutter, and is rushed to the hospital where he is pronounced dead of causes still unknown. He is buried at Westminster Presbyterian church in Baltimore.
