    The Austrian Anschluss
    In 1937 Hitler called for a unification for all German speaking people, also in Austria and Czechoslovakia. Hitler believed in expanding its territory by force with attendant risks. A year later in Febuaray Hitler was threatening to invade German speaking Austria, Austria's chancellor accepted the demand and tried to matter it by unification with Germany with a democratic vote.Hitler then sent troops into Austria in March and introuduced the Anschluss, unification of Austria and Germany.

    The Munich Conference
    The Munich Conference occured on Seotember 29, 1938 due to represenatives from Briatain, FRance, Italy, and Germany meeting up in Munich to decide Czechoslovakia's fate. Due to this Briatin and France agreed to Hitlers demands, a policy known as the appeaseent. Which was concession in exchange for peace. But soon enough the appeasement failed when Germany sent troops to Czechoslovakia to divide the country. When Slovakia became independent on its own but still under German control.

    Hiter Demands Danzig
    After The Munich Conference Hitler demaded that Danzig is to be returned under German control. He also requested a highway and railroad across the Polish corridor. Britian announced that if Poland went to war to defend the territory, Britian and France would come to its aid. Polish refused Hitlers demands. May 19, 1939 he ordered the German army to prepare to invade Poland. He also ordered his foreign minister to begin negotiations with the capital USSR.

    The British sent troops to France and both countries remained defensive, waiting for the German's. After WWI, the French built a line of concrete bunkers and fortifications called the Maginot Line. French preferred to wait behind the Maginot Line for the German's. This allowed Germany to concentrate on Poland, first, before turning West to face the British and French. Second, Hilter decided to go around the Maginot Line which protected France's border with Germany. British nd French trapped.

    The Nazi - Soviet Pact
    German officials proposed a non-aggression treaty to the Soviets, Stalin agreed. The best way to protect the USSR was to turn the capitalist nations against each other. The non-aggression Pact was signed by Germany and the USSR on August 19, 1939. Communism and Nazism were totally opposed to each other. Hitler made a big deal to free himself for war against their countries and Poland. The Treaty contained a secret deal to divide Poland between Germany and the Soviet Union.

    Germany invaded Poland two days later Britian and France declared war on Germany, which lead to WWII. The German's used a new type of warfare called blitzkrieg. It used large numbers of massed tanks to break through and rapidly encircle enemy positions. The Polish capital fell to the German's on September 27th. By October 5, 1939 German's defeated the Polish military.

    The Evacuation of Dunkirk
    After traping allied forces in Belgium the German's drive them towards the English Channel. The German's had captured all but one port which was Dunkirk. Hitler ordered them to stop He wan'ted more infantry to arrive. Hitler that aircraft alone can destroy and trapped soldiers. HIs order provided three day delay which gave British time to strengthen their lines and begin evacuation, British hoped to rescue about 45,000 troops, instead they evacuated about 338,000 British and French troops.

    The German airforce began to attack British shipping in the English cannel. In mid August the Luftwaffe launched and all out air battle to destroy the Royal Airforce. August 23rd, German bombers accidently bombed London. Hitler's goal was to terrorize the British people to surrender. The British developed new technology called Radar. On October 12, 1940 Hitler canceled the invasion of Britian.
