Sister Meredith Born
Meredith was my first sister and she was born, I was three years old. When she was born, it was the end of my life as an only child. -
Sister Molly Born
Molly was my second sister and a big part of my life. I was five years old when she was born, so I could enjoy her as a baby more than I could enjoy Meredith as a baby. -
Brother Elliott Born
Elliott was my first and only brother and he is special to me because I got to be in the delivery room when he was born. I was eight years old when he was born. -
Family Friend Passes Away
One of our family friends, Sara, had been diagnosed with lung cancer a few months before we met her. She lived three years longer than the doctors said she would, but eventually, despite many rounds of chemotherapy, she died April 23, 2005. -
Flood of '08
In the summer of 2008, there was a lot of flooding in most of Iowa. Many homes were flooded, and many people had water damage to their houses. It was very devastating for a lot of people. -
Haiti Earthquake
There was an earthquake in Haiti, which was already a poor country before the eartquake. Many people died, and Haiti is still trying to repair the damage from the earthquake. -
Discovery 21 Trip
Last year, I went on a school trip where the top six students on each team (based on GPA's) got to go to Florida for ten days. The trip included five days in Disneyworld, a day at Kennedy Space Station, and three days in Daytona beach. -
Moving to Fairfax
My family moved to Fairfax from Ottumwa last summer, and it was a big adjustment for me. I had to leave my school and all my friends behind, but now I know it was a good decision in the long run. -

Kate Middleton and Prince William were married in London this year. Some people think this wedding was not important, but I think it was fun to watch. -

After many years of hiding, Osama Bin Laden was finally found and killed. Osama Bin Laden was the mastermind behind what was perhaps the worst terrorist attack the United States has ever seen. It is a good thing that we found him so he cannot attack our country again.
