It was morning and it was time that the war was going to end. It was the last battle,it was called ''The Battle of Appomattox Courthouse''. General Grant was going against Robert E. Lee which was leader of the army of Virginia. Their had been over 50 battles that had happened and this was going to be the end.

It was April 9 1865,and it was time it was time that Robert E. was going to Surrender. He wanted to talk to General Grant about it so they met at Appomattox court house. They both knew that they met each other long ago before this war. Afterwards this battle was named ''The Appomattox court house'' because of this single event in the Civil War.

General Grant died

General Grant died at year of 63 for this Throat cancer in his throat. he died in Wilton, New York .He then was buried in his tomb, also they buried him by August 8 1885.people sometimes go their to remember him and what he did to the world.
