    Once the U.S. surrendered in the Bataan Peninsula on the main Philippine island of Luzon to the Japanese during World War II, approximately 75,000 Filipino and American troops on Bataan were forced to make a 65-mile march to prison camps.

    It divided North Korea ( communist) and South Korea (anti-communist). It was an attempt to occupy North Korea until the North decided to invade the South.
