Baba had one more gift for Amir and it was America. Baba left all his memories and love back in Afghanistan, while Amir left nightmares and unwanted memories. Amir and Baba went to the flea market to start selling things to make more money. They went to the section were all the Afghans were so they would feel more comfortable and more at home. Baba introduced Amir to General Sahib. Baba had known him from Afghanistan. Amir met him and when he looked to the general’s stand he say a young woman, Soraya. He instantly fell in love with her and wanted to get to know her, but he had to quickly look away because in their culture it is disrespectful. -
Mairrage
Amir gets consent to marrry Soraya and it is the best day of his life. They both dressed in green to symbolize Islam. Baba paid about $35,000 for this big day in his son's life.Their wedding was successful and everyone had an amazoing time. Amir was finally happy -
Baba Dies
Later in the week Baba asks permission for Amir to talk to Soraya, he gets sick. They believe it’s just a normal cold, but it gets worse. At first it was just coughing and the sniffles, but then the sniffles went away and the coughing continued. The coughing got to a point where he would just cough up blood. They went to several doctors until they diagnosed him with lung cancer. They would visit him in the hospital until he got sent home. Baba refused to have chemo therapy. -
Rahim Khan and the secret
Amir,on this day, gets a phone call from Rahim Khan saying there can be a way to be good again. Amir books the first flight to Peshwar so he can see Rahim Khan. He is very ill and has the same symptoms that Baba had. When they meet up at Rahim Khans house, Rahim tells him everything. Amir finds out Hassan is dead and that he was his half brother. He storms out in anger because he believes his life has been a lie. -
Assef's Revenge
He is in awe when he sees Assef in the room. He now knows that Sorab has been picked to be molested by Assef. Assef asks why Amir wants the boy, but Amir wont tell him he is Hassn,s son cause he knows he will never get him. Him and Assef decide to fight for the boy. Assef takes out his brass nuckles and tells the guards not to come in despite what they might hear, but Sorab must stay inside. Sorab takes out his sling shot and hits Assef right in the eye with a metal ball. He is now 1 eyed Assef. -
