Amir and Hassan
Amir and Hassan are born. Hassan was a Hazara boy who was practically Amris servant. Although they treated each other like brothers and breast fed from the same woman Amir didn't think of him as his brother cause he was a Hazara. Hassan's first word was "Amir" which shows his love towards him. -
Meeting Assef
Assef is introduced as a cruel person who beats up kids with his famous brass knuckles. Assef wants to beat up Amir and Hassan but thanks to Hassan and his slingshot he retreats; but he tells them that it won't be the end and he never forgets. -
Assef's revenge

When Amir goes to see where Hassan had gone he sees that Assef and his friends had Hassan trapped and then witnesses Hassan get raped by Assef and doesn't say or do anything about it. -
Hassan Leaves
After the incident Amir begins to avoid Hassan because he feels guilty. He tried to make Hassan look like a thief to make Baba (father) kick them out of their house. Ali (Hassan's dad) eventually tells Baba that they will be leaving and that's the last time Amir sees Hassan. -
Going to America
After the soviets had started their invasion in Afghan, Baba decided to take Amir to America .In order to make to America they had to escape Kabul which was very dangerous if you got caught. They survived harsh rides in trucks and almost got killed once by a Russian soldier. -
Married
Afghan wedding tradition After Baba gets diagnosed with cancer his last fatherly duty is to help his son Amir get married to Soraya. Soraya moves in with Amir and Baba. She cares for Baba until he dies. Later on they try to have kids but they can't. -
The call
Amir gets a call early in the morning from his "uncle" Rahim Khan telling him that he is very sick and that there is a way to be good again. Amir decides to go to Afghan to see Rahim Khan and discovers that Hassan was his brother but he and his wife were killed and that Hassan's child is an orphan Kabul. -
Reunited with Assef
After seeing the man that has Sohrab, kill people in a stadium, Amir still decides to go talk to him. He finds out that the man that has Sohrab is Assef and the only way he could get him back is if they fight till death. While he is getting beat, Sohrab slingshots something in Assefs eye and they mangae to escape. -
Sohrab attempts suicide
After Amir gets Sohrabs trust and is able to talk to him he asks Sohrab to live with him in America, so he won't ever have to go to to an orphanage. Later when he can't get his VISA he tells Sohrab that he might need to be put in an orphanage for a short period. When Sohrab find this out he attempts suicide but Amir is able to save him. -
Going back to America
After all the trouble Amir and Sohrab finally make back to America. Sohrab is greeted kindly but he remains quiet and never speaks or smiles until the end of the book when he goes kite flying with Amir.
