    Lexington and Concord
    British sent troops to Massachusettes to destriy rebel military supplies. The Patriots had recievd word of Britain's plans weeks before. When the British arrived at Lexington, they found 70 Minutemen. When ordered by the British to disperse, "The Shot Heard 'Round the World" was fired and the American Revolution began. The British continued to Concord and the Americans retreated to the North Bridge. The British accomplished their goal.

    The Declaration of Independence is a statement adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, which announced that the thirteen American colonies, then at war with Great Britain, regarded themselves as independent states, and no longer a part of the British Empire. This event is important because they were able to conclude an official alliance with France and it created a new country.

    Treaty of Paris
    The Treaty of Paris was signed on September 3, 1783, ending the American Revolution between Great Britain and the United States along with it's allies. This treaty was inportant because it gave the United States a larger amount of land, fishing rights and many other perks.
