Serena had her first win in a professional tournament. She did loose in the semi-finals but this was still a big achievement. -
First Grand Slam title
At age 17, Serena won her first ever Grand Slam title. -
Serena's first clothing line
Serena created her first clothing line called Aneres, she also started a second one in 2009. Her older sister also died this year. -
The Serena Williams Foundation
Serena created the Serena Williams Foundation to promote equity through education, race, gender, disability and more, for the unprivileged. -
A very special year
Serena won her 23rd Grand Slam, got married to her husband, Alexis Ohanian and gave birth to her daughter, Olympia. This was a very big year for Serena. -
Present
To this day she is not currently on the court but is still a very inspirational person that is part of the Black community.
