Paul Castro named principal for new middle school in West
Paul Castro was named as the new principal to open Westbriar Middle School for HISD. West Briar is located in the Houston oil corridor near Briar Forest and Eldridge. -
Westbriar opens
Westbriar Middle School opens it doors for the first time in August, 2002 with a staff of 70 teachers. The school has state of the art technology with computer carts for each floor of each house with t.v. monitors in every classroom. -
Eileen McClellan named teacher of the year
Eilelen McClellan, art teacher, was named as the first Teacher of the Year for Westbriar Middle School. Mrs. McClellan's students are state winners in art competitions. She has been teaching for 25 years. -
Geoffrey Ohl named new principal
Mr. Geoffrey Ohl named new principal of Westbriar Middle School. Mr. Ohl previously served as a Math teacher at Shadowbriar Elementary school and served as Dean at Westbriar Middle School during the past three years. -
Westbriar Middle School tops enrollement of 1500
School in the west are being overcrowded due to closing of private schools in the Houston area. Westbriar is the premier school in the West and now houses 10 temporary buildings to house students.
