    The rise in budgeted airlines began in 1997 this was because the government de regulated rules and this allowed smaller airlines to really take off in the Travel and Tourism industry. Ryan air and Easy Jet are the two airlines that benefited from this the most and are still frequently used in the UK everyday. All airlines have to pay a fee to use any airport.

    All throughout the 1970s and the 1980s people started to go abroad as it was seen as more affordable and that meant everyone stopped going to the park resorts and went on a planes instead. this was also around the time people started having packaged holidays and these were the most commonly used and still are to this day.

    The reason leisure and working patterns have changed because we are allowed to have at least 4 weeks off from work so we can book time off and spend time with family and many people go on holiday at least once a year. In the 1950s the average working hour a week would be around 50 hours when they didn't have any breaks or paid days off from work compared to 2024 the average working hours in a week are around 37 hours which is about 7.5 or 8 hours per day.

    Scarborough spa and town became Britain's first Seaside resort. Beach resorts were expensive in the 1800s and including the travel is even more money until steam boats were invented in the early 1800s piers were then made for the steam boats leaving and docking this means that many more people were able to go these resorts and at a much cheaper price.

    The grand tour started in the 16th century. the grand tour comes from a 17th century writer and a roman catholic priest called Richard Lassels he used it in his guidebook called The voyage of Italy that was published in 1670. The grand tour is where people visited and saw many things such as art that was in there. The grand tour website gave me information on men trying to become closer to the queen and was forced to study and travel around the world before they would have her blessing.

Many ways of transport have further developed since the 17th century to the 21st century, At first it would be used for The Grand Tour which was when young upper class males would go on a year long trip all throughout Europe for there education.

    Air development has started with Wilbur and Orville wright spending about 4 years researching and developing to try and create the first ever successfully powered airplane in 1903 and it was called the Wright Flyer . The first place that The Wright Flyer went was North Carolina. The brothers had a dream of one day being able to build a flying machine that was big enough to hold the both brothers.     The industry has changed now because of the internet it makes it more accessible for you to book your own holiday instead of going to a travel agent and having them plan it 7/10 people now will book there own holiday because it is quicker if you want to get it booked and you can book something in the night and be leaving for your flight the next day its that simple. This has also had a negative impact on travel agents and in person travel bookings for example Tui have had many places close.

    The traveling industry has changed massively due to the development of technology and the internet. There aren't as many in person travel agency's around anymore because many people book there holidays online and it is also easier to access them. Travelers now can book there own trips, hotels and look at there own reviews and decide if that is the right hotel for them or deal all by themselves as its straight forward, However I think this is both a positive and negative impact on the world
