  • The Voyage of the Mayflower

    The Voyage of the Mayflower
    A group of pilgrims sailed from England to America "the New World" on the ship the Mayflower. They left England because they want freedom. Their journey continued for 65 days, it was a very hard journey because of the storms.
  • Plymouth Village

     Plymouth Village
    The pilgrims saw land in the distance. Some of them saw a good place and decided to build a village there, later they called the village Plymouth.
    The first winter was very cold and 45 people died from the extreme temperatures and from hunger, but they didn't loose hope.
  • New Colonies

    New Colonies
    By the 1750s, the British had 13 colonies on the east coast of America and about two and a half millions colonists lived there. But France and Spain also owned big areas of land in North America and want to influence New World, too.
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    On 4th July, 1776, the colonies declared independence from Great Britain. Then the fighting started. The colonist, led by Geroge Washington, fought many long and hards battles. In the end, they defeated the British and signed the Treaty of Paris in 1783. They called their new nation the United States of America (USA).
  • The Louisiana Purchase Agreement

     The Louisiana Purchase Agreement
    The French Emperor Napoleon offered to sell the land to the United States for $15 million. The president, Thomas Jefferson, acepted the offer and signed the Louisiana Purchase Agreement. This doubled the size of the country. By 1848, the country extended from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean.

    There was problems in their country. The people in the North lived in towns, but in the south, they lived on plantations and own slaves. The plantations owners wanted to keep their slaves, but the people in the North wanted to abolish slaverry.
    Abraham Linconln was the President of the USA. He wanted to end slaverry. The people in the South wanted to leave the Union and have their own nation, but Lincoln wanted to keep the country together.
  • The American Civil War II

    The American Civil War II
    This war was terrible! Thousand of people were dead. Both the people in the north and the people in the south were suffering. The war couldn't continue for long because the Confederates were losing. They had got fewer soldier than the Union.
  • The American Civil War III

    The American Civil War III
    General Robert E. Lee, the Confederate army leader, surrendered to General Ulysses Grant, the Union army leader. It was the end of the war, but more than 600.000 Americans were dead. Then the slaves were free and the country was one nation. But they'll never be the same again.
