UNICEF Organ is Founded

United Nations Children's Fund is created and headquartered in NYC. It is used to promote and spread education throughout the United Nations.

Universal Declaration of Human Rights Signed

Dec 10, 1948

Universal Declaration of Human Rights is prepared by First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt and offered to be signed and followed by the UN.

UNDP Organ is Founded

Jan 1, 1966

United Nations Development Programme is created and headquartered in NYC. It is used to help developing nations by advocating change and provides knowledge and resources.

UNEP Organ is Founded

Jun 5, 1972

United Nations Environment Programme is created and headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. It is used to help the environment and protect the earth through the United Nations. Created after a United Nations Conference on the Human Environment.

United Nations Wins the Nobel Peace Prize

2001

In 2001 the United Nations won the Nobel Peace Prize in Norway because of their work to ensure peace among all countries in the world.
